Welcome to The One Distinction Project. This project is about sharing breakthroughs in releasing self-stigmatization associated with HIV. Hence, creating a powerful context by which we will gain and maintain:

  • full self-expression,
  • freedom; and
  • peace of mind to lead powerful lives.

Visit and/or join our forum, a place where we can read, share and interact to empower each other towards freedom from HIV related self-stigmatization.

The One Distinction Project is an online community for all individuals impacted by an HIV diagnosis (whether infected or affected) that provides a dialogue for all to share, overcome, and subsequently eliminate self-stigma typically associated with the illness. Although the title of this community is The One Distinction Project, please do not limit yourself to just sharing one distinction of how you overcame HIV related self-stigma. Share as many distinctions as you like.

Our Vision:

“End self-stigmatization associated with HIV”

Our mission:

“Provide a global and safe environment for individuals to openly share their distinctions of overcoming self-stigma and learn from one another to live powerful and self-expressed lives. “

  1. Individuals will be able to share their distinctions that allowed them to overcome their self-stigma.
  2. Individuals will be able to comment on others’ distinctions and receive support.
  3. Individuals will be able to read distinctions and comments and learn about overcoming self-stigma.
  4. Individuals involved will be able to post distinctions and comments anonymously to provide a safe environment for powerful disclosure.

Welcome to The One Distinction Project (TODP), an online community for anyone impacted by an HIV diagnosis, their friends/family/caregivers, and others wanting to share and learn about overcoming self-stigma. You can browse through posting; scroll down for a glance at the most recent posts; or join in the conversation yourself by registering. Privacy Warning: Please realize that these forums are open to all, and are fully searchable via Google and other search engines. If you are HIV positive and disclose this in our forums, then it is almost the same thing as telling the whole world (or at least the World Wide Web). If this concerns you, then do not use a username or avatar that are self-identifying in any way. We do not allow the deletion of anything you post in these forums, so think before you post.
